Risk Premium Rate Transparency

AppNexus has developed the ability to allow a Buyer to pay on a different event than the Seller, to support, for example, an agency or marketer who wishes to operate on a 100% viewable basis.  On each impression, we predict the likelihood of a post-auction view event.  We pay the Seller per impression based on that prediction, and the Buyer only pays for impressions that are measured viewable post-auction.  Since the predictions are not perfect, we add a small premium in the conversion to compensate us for the risk of losing money if we, for instance, over-predict viewability.  For more information, please see the Guaranteed Outcomes documentation.

Given the unpredictable and dynamic nature of the predictions, we cannot know ahead of time what the actual risk premium rate will be.  We set a fixed rate target, based on analysis of the risk associated with enabling the marketplace, but the actual rate will depend on the accuracy of the viewability prediction.

We understand that this is a unique offering, but we are driven to build innovative solutions to big marketplace challenges.  We are also deeply committed to increasing transparency, efficiency and trust in the programmatic supply chain.  To that end, this page is designed to share the resulting daily and monthly risk premium rates for Guaranteed View transactions on the platform.
